This variety is highly recommended due to its vigorous, heavy-yielding vines. Fruit on Gill’s Sweet Meat will be large and flattened with a hard grey-green rind. The flesh is orange, and fiber-less, and delicious. Sweet Meat even gets better with age- it gets sweeter. Gill’s Sweet Meat is more tolerant of powdery mildew. In the fall, use it to make a fantastic pumpkin pie.
